Speck (Mote) and the Beam

Jesus warns against hypocritical judgement and encourages individuals to examine and remove their faults before attempting to correct others.

Straight & Narrow

Jesus emphasizes the importance of making the right choices and following a difficult path that leads to eternal life, rather than the easy but ultimately destructive path that leads to destruction.

Mark 8:34–38; 9:1

Take up Cross

Jesus calls his disciples to follow Him by denying their own desires and worldly ambitions to the extent that they would be willing to suffer and even die for the sake of the gospel, just as he would.

Talents/ Pounds

This parable teaches that God expects His followers to be good stewards of the gifts and resources He has given them, and that they will be rewarded or punished accordingly based on how they use them.

Ten Servants

This parable teaches about the importance of using the resources and opportunities that God has given us wisely and productively, and warns against the consequences of failing to do so.

Ten Virgins

Jesus teaches about the need to be prepared and watchful for His return, and warns against the consequences of being unprepared or lacking in faithfulness.

Mark 12:1-12

Tenant Farmers

Jesus teaches about his husbandmen who persecuted and killed his servants. When the Lord finally sent his own son to deliver his message the husbandmen even killed their Lord's son. This parable teaches about the consequences that would be afflicted upon those who reject and persecute His messengers, describing the ultimate triumph of His kingdom over all opposition.

Things Hidden from Prudent and Revealed to Babes

Jesus praises God for revealing the mysteries of His kingdom to the humble and childlike, while hiding the mysteries of the kingdom from those who are wise in their own eyes. He invites all who are burdened and weary to come to Him for rest and salvation.

Tree, Good & Corrupt Fruit - Eden

Jesus teaches that a tree is recognized by its fruit, and that a good tree produces good fruit while a corrupt tree produces bad fruit. He explains that people's words and actions reveal what is in their hearts, and that a good person brings good things out of their heart while an evil person brings evil things out of their heart.

Mark 12:13–17

Tribute to Caesar

Christ's allegory teaches that individuals should give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar (i.e., pay taxes to the government) and to God what belongs to God (i.e., honor and worship God).

True Vine

Christ's parable emphasizes the importance of remaining connected to him as the source of spiritual life and fruitfulness.

Two Debtors

This parable highlights the importance of forgiveness and gratitude towards God through a story of two debtors who were forgiven different amounts of debt by their creditor.
