Moses reveals the "book of remembrance" was written in the "language of Adam" by divine inspiration (v.5-6), and that the Priesthood existed "from the beginning" and would continue to the end of the world (v.7).

Genesis 5 contains 32 verses—primarily a genealogical record from Adam to Noah.
Moses 6 contains 68 verses—more than double—preserving the genealogy but ADDING:
Moses reveals the "book of remembrance" was written in the "language of Adam" by divine inspiration (v.5-6), and that the Priesthood existed "from the beginning" and would continue to the end of the world (v.7).
Moses adds that these patriarchs were "preachers of righteousness" who "called upon all men, everywhere, to repent" (v.23). Jared "taught Enoch in all the ways of God" (v.21). They weren't just genealogical links—they were prophets.
Genesis tells us nothing about how Enoch became a prophet. Moses provides a detailed call narrative: Enoch protests he is "but a lad" and "slow of speech" (v.31), God promises "all thy words will I justify" (v.34), and after anointing his eyes with clay, Enoch beholds "spirits that God had created" and becomes known as "a seer" (v.35-36).
Genesis says only "Enoch walked with God" (v.22). Moses reveals what that walking included: testifying from high places (v.37), people calling him "a wild man" (v.38), a questioner named Mahijah (v.40), and Enoch teaching about the "book of remembrance" (v.46). "The people trembled, and could not stand in his presence" (v.47).
This is perhaps the most significant addition: the full plan of salvation was taught to Adam! Including:
• "Because that Adam fell, we are" (v.48)
• Baptism "in the name of mine Only Begotten Son... Jesus Christ" (v.52)
• "The Son of God hath atoned for original guilt" (v.54)
• "Teach these things freely unto your children" (v.58)—the week's theme!
• Born again "of water, and of the Spirit, and be cleansed by blood" (v.59)
• "This is the plan of salvation unto all men" (v.62)
Adam was "carried down into the water, and was laid under the water, and was brought forth out of the water" (v.64)—baptism by immersion. He received the Holy Ghost and was "born of the Spirit" (v.65). A voice declared him "after the order of him who was without beginning of days or end of years"—the Melchizedek Priesthood (v.67). "Thou art one in me, a son of God; and thus may all become my sons" (v.68).
